Getting started

My widget does not show. What do I check?

Updated

Check these in order: the code sits in an HTML or code block, the page is published, no cache or security plugin strips the script, your site is on the widget's allowed-domains list if you set one, and on Wix or Google Sites the embed box is tall enough.

  1. The block type. Code pasted into a text or paragraph block shows as text or nothing. Move it into the builder's HTML or code block (which block, per builder).
  2. Publishing. Many editors show changes only after you publish or update the site. Open the live page, not the editor preview.
  3. Cache and security plugins. Some WordPress caching, optimization and security plugins remove or delay scripts. Clear the cache, and if it still does not show, exclude the widget script from script optimization.
  4. Allowed domains. If you added domains to the widget's allowed-domains list, the widget only shows on those. Add the domain you are testing on, including a staging domain.
  5. Embed box height. Wix and Google Sites run embeds inside a fixed-size frame. If the reviews are cut off or scroll inside a small box, drag the frame taller.

Each builder page lists fixes specific to that builder, for example WordPress, Wix and Squarespace. If none of this helps, email us the page address and the builder you use.
