How it installs on Squarespace

  1. 1

Open the page in the Squarespace editor.

  2. 2

Add a block and choose Code.

  3. 3

Paste the BlooTrue embed code (leave type as HTML).

  4. 4

Save — the widget renders on the live page (preview may show a placeholder).

Where the code goes on Squarespace

In Squarespace the embed code goes into a Code Block, added from the block menu on the page with the type left as HTML. The editor shows a Code Block as a gray placeholder, so you never see the reviews inside the editor; they render on the live page after you save. The block fills the width of its column in the section grid and expands to the widget's height. A Code Block is per page, and Code Injection under Settings is the site-wide alternative, but it puts code in the header or footer rather than in the page body.

Squarespace plan note: Code Blocks exist on every Squarespace plan, but JavaScript and iframes only render on Core, Plus, Advanced, Business and Commerce. Not Personal.

Where reviews earn their place on a Squarespace site

An empty full-width section under the intro — Squarespace's spacing frames the reviews cleanly.

If the widget does not show on Squarespace

  • If the live page shows nothing, check your plan; JavaScript in Code Blocks does not render on the Personal plan.
  • If the editor shows a gray box, that is normal; Squarespace renders Code Blocks on the published page only.
  • If the code appears as text, confirm the Code Block type is set to HTML, not Markdown.

Squarespace Review Widgets — FAQ

Is there a free review widget for Squarespace?
Yes — BlooTrue embeds Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, G2, Capterra, Airbnb, Booking.com or any of 21 review platforms on Squarespace for free. Code Block, 60 seconds. Needs Core or above, not Personal. No plugin, no view caps.
Which review platforms can I show on Squarespace?
21 platforms: Google, Trustpilot, Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Angi, Glassdoor, Agoda, BBB, OpenTable, RateMDs, Capterra, G2, Indeed, TrustRadius, Clutch, Expedia, Booking.com, Etsy, Google Play — each with its own Squarespace install guide. Starter ($9/month) blends its 3 connected platforms into one all-in-one widget, and Pro ($29/month) and higher blend every platform you connect.
Do I need a Squarespace plugin or app?
No. BlooTrue is a pure HTML embed — one line of code pasted into the Squarespace editor. Code Block, 60 seconds. Needs Core or above, not Personal.
Which Squarespace block holds a review widget?
The Code Block. Add a block on the page, choose Code, leave the type set to HTML and paste the BlooTrue snippet. Save the page. The editor displays the block as a gray placeholder, and the live page shows the reviews. This works on Squarespace 7.1 and 7.0 sites alike.
Does a Squarespace Code Block work on the Personal plan?
The block itself exists on every plan, but JavaScript and iframes inside a Code Block only render on Core, Plus, Advanced, Business and Commerce plans, not on Personal. Since the review widget is a script, a Personal plan site shows nothing where the block sits.
Should I use Code Injection or a Code Block for reviews in Squarespace?
A Code Block. Code Injection under Settings adds code to the header or footer of every page, which does not let you position the reviews in a specific section. A Code Block goes in the page body, so you can place it in an empty full-width section under the intro.
