Getting the most from BBB customer reviews
People look a company up on the BBB before they hire a contractor, a mover, a car repair shop or a financial service, which is to say before spending real money with someone they cannot easily swap out. A BBB widget meets that habit on your own site, so the customer reads your BBB reviews without leaving to search bbb.org.
Why BBB customer reviews read as credible
BBB does not accept anonymous reviews. It validates each reviewer's email address or phone number, confirms that a marketplace interaction took place, and does not allow reviews from people who were paid for them, directly or indirectly. Reviewers certify that what they wrote is truthful, BBB removes inappropriate language and personal details, and the business gets the chance to respond. That process is why a block of BBB reviews carries weight with a cautious customer.
Reviews and the letter grade are scored apart
BBB grades a business on a 100-point scale, from A+ at 97 to 100 down to F below 60, using factors such as complaint history, time in business, transparent business practices, licensing and advertising issues. BBB states that customer reviews are not used in the letter-grade calculation, so a run of good reviews will not lift an A- to an A+. A business with too little information shows NR, which BBB says is not a grade and is not negative. The widget shows the reviews and their star average; the grade stays on your BBB profile.
When a review is not from a real customer
If you believe a reviewer never dealt with your business, you can challenge the review, and BBB will ask the reviewer to substantiate the interaction. A review is also suspended when the same customer files a complaint about the same issue with the same email address. Two different things. The 1–5 star customer reviews are written by your customers about their experience — that's what this widget displays. The A+-to-F 'BBB rating' is BBB's own grade for how a business interacts with BBB (complaint history, time in business, transparency, accreditation status).

My BBB profile doesn't show any reviews — how do I get them showing?
Reviews only appear if your BBB business profile is public and has customer reviews. A brand-new profile with zero reviews has nothing to import yet — the widget will populate as soon as your first public customer review lands. Once your profile has reviews, paste its URL and BlooTrue fetches them automatically.
What happens if BBB removes a review I'm displaying?
The widget syncs from BBB every 24 hours. If a review is removed (the customer deleted it, BBB removed it for violating its review guidelines, or it was flagged), it disappears from your widget on the next sync. You don't need to do anything — BlooTrue follows BBB's public source of truth and never caches removed content.
Does the BBB widget work for multi-location businesses?
Yes. Create one widget per BBB business profile — many multi-location brands keep a separate profile per location, each with its own customer reviews. With BlooTrue's paid plans you can create multiple BBB widgets and place each location's widget on the matching location page of your site.
Can I filter BBB reviews to only show 4–5 star ones?

We don't recommend hiding every critical review permanently — a perfectly 5★ widget reads as filtered to most visitors.
Does the BBB widget add review schema markup, and will it get me stars in Google?
Schema markup yes, on paid plans; stars in Google, no. Because BBB customer reviews are real star ratings with a review count, BlooTrue emits valid schema.org Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD.
