BBB Review Widget for Magento — Free, the Only Practical Path

BlooTrue's BBB Review Widget for Magento is a free, extension-free embed that displays your BBB reviews on any Magento 2.x or Adobe Commerce storefront. There's a double gap to bridge: BBB does not publish an official embed widget for merchants (its Fusion API is gated for partner apps like Apple Maps and Trivago), and the Magento Marketplace has no meaningful BBB review extension either. BlooTrue fills both gaps with a pure HTML embed pasted into a CMS Block or CMS Page via the Show / Hide Editor raw-HTML toggle, or a Page Builder HTML Code element. Blocks slot into any layout position through Content → Widgets → CMS Static Block — homepage, category pages, footer. No composer install, no deploy, nothing to re-validate on the next Magento upgrade, and it works on Adobe Commerce Cloud out of the box. The one Magento-only step: flush the full-page cache afterward via System → Cache Management, or the cached page keeps serving the pre-widget version. Magento skews to North American retail and service businesses with physical locations — exactly where BBB's review footprint is strongest, which makes the pairing unusually effective. Six widget styles, light and dark themes, SEO rich snippets — schema.org Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD — injected automatically.

How to embed BBB reviews on Magento in two minutes

  1. Paste your BBB business profile URL (bbb.org/./profile/your-business-slug) into the configurator above.
  2. Pick a widget style and customize colors, theme, and layout.
  3. Click Copy Code to get the one-line HTML embed.
  4. In the Magento admin: Content → Blocks → Add New Block (or edit a CMS Page).
  5. Click Show / Hide Editor to switch to raw HTML and paste — or drag a Page Builder HTML Code element and paste there.
  6. Place the block: Content → Widgets → add a CMS Static Block widget and assign a layout position.
  7. Flush the cache: System → Cache Management (or bin/magento cache:flush).

Why doesn't BBB have an official embed?

BBB's Fusion API is positioned as a partner-channel product (used by sites like Apple Maps and Trivago) rather than as a merchant self-service product. BBB does not publish a paste-ready embed widget the way Google publishes Place Cards. For Magento stores the gap is doubled — the Magento Marketplace has no meaningful BBB review extension. Third-party widgets like BlooTrue are the canonical way to surface BBB reviews on a Magento storefront.

Get golden stars in Google search results

On paid plans, every BlooTrue widget injects schema.org Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD straight into your page — so Google and AI answer engines can read your ratings and reviews as structured data, and your pages become eligible for star-rating rich snippets. (Google treats a business's own reviews on its own site as "self-serving" and doesn't guarantee stars for them — product/service reviews are the most reliably eligible; either way your reviews become machine-readable for search and AI.)

Your Business — Trusted by 500+ Happy Customers

See what 127 verified customers are saying — read real Google reviews, ratings, and detailed feedback about our services, pricing, and team.

4.9
(127)
This is what your customers see when they Google you — powered by BlooTrue's JSON-LD.
  • Zero config — it just works

    The moment you embed a BlooTrue widget, JSON-LD markup is injected automatically. No extra tags, no developer time.

  • Google Rich Results valid

    Every field follows Google's current structured-data guidelines — LocalBusiness, AggregateRating, and Review — so it passes the Rich Results Test out of the box.

  • Standalone schema endpoint Paid plans

    For star ratings to appear under your parent page's blue link in Google, search engines need the schema on the parent page itself — iframe-embedded schema is not propagated to the host page. Paid plans expose a JSON-LD endpoint per widget that you drop into your<head>for SERP rich snippets on product, landing, or legacy pages. Schema markup is a paid feature: free-plan widgets display your reviews but don't emit JSON-LD, so free pages aren't eligible for rich snippets.

What gets injected automaticallylive

  "@type": "LocalBusiness",
  "name": "Your Business",
  "aggregateRating": {
    "ratingValue": "4.9",
    "reviewCount": "127"
  }
}
</script>

Star-snippet visibility is ultimately decided by Google — valid schema is a prerequisite, not a guarantee. BlooTrue ships the markup; Google decides which queries get stars. For SERP rich snippets to appear under your parent page's link, the schema must be served on the parent page itself — that's what the standalone JSON-LD endpoint (paid plans) is for. Schema markup is a paid feature, so free-plan widgets display your reviews but don't emit JSON-LD. Independent studies find pages with valid review schema see materially higher click-through rates than plain listings.

Why Use BlooTrue for BBB on Magento?

The only free way to put BBB reviews on a Magento storefront — BBB has no embed, and the Marketplace has no BBB extension.

Fills BBB's Missing Embed

BBB doesn't publish an official embed widget for merchants. BlooTrue is the free, paste-and-go alternative — pulls reviews from your public BBB business profile automatically.

Fills the Marketplace Gap Too

The Magento Marketplace has no meaningful BBB review extension — and an extension would mean composer installs and upgrade re-validation anyway. BlooTrue is CMS content: zero code deployed.

Place It Anywhere via CMS Static Block

Content → Widgets → CMS Static Block drops the widget into any layout position — homepage, category pages, footer — without writing layout XML.

No BBB API Key Required

Works with any public BBB business profile. No BBB Fusion application, no API quotas, no business-level claim required.

What makes a BBB widget different from a Google review widget?

BBB customer reviews are a native 1–5 star system. Knowing how they differ from BBB's A+-to-F letter rating, how profile setup works, and how reviews are moderated avoids surprises after you embed.

BBB customer reviews vs the A+-to-F “BBB rating”

BBB has two separate signals, and this widget shows only one of them. The first is the 1–5 star customer reviews — written by your customers about their experience — with an overall customer-review average; that's what BlooTrue displays. The second is the A+-to-F letter “BBB rating”, which is BBB's own grade for how a business interacts with BBB (complaint history, transparency, time in business, accreditation status) — the widget does not show this letter rating or the accreditation seal. BlooTrue renders each customer review exactly as stars: a 5-star review shows 5 stars, a 3-star review shows 3, and the header shows your real BBB customer-review average and count. The header rating always comes from BBB's own published customer-review aggregate, never from averaging the individual cards on screen.

Where the reviews come from and how often they refresh

BlooTrue fetches the publicly-visible customer reviews from your BBB business profile on a server-side schedule — roughly once every 24 hours on paid plans — and caches the result. Your site never calls BBB directly, so visitor traffic to your page doesn't depend on BBB being reachable, and the widget loads instantly from cache. Only reviews that are public on your profile are included. Each review keeps its reviewer name, star rating, and text, and links back to your BBB business profile.

Accreditation, profile setup, and what shows up in the widget

You do not need to be a BBB Accredited Business to use this widget — it works with any public BBB business profile, accredited or not. Reviews only appear if your profile is public and has customer reviews. If your profile is brand new or has zero reviews, there's nothing for the widget to import yet — it will populate as soon as your first public customer review lands. Once your profile has reviews, the widget shows whatever is public: no more, no less. If a review disappears from your widget after a sync, it almost always means the customer deleted it or BBB removed it — the widget simply follows your profile's public state.

Moderation, review guidelines, and attribution

BBB moderates customer reviews under its review guidelines and removes spam, fraudulent submissions, and content that violates its policies. Because BlooTrue reads only your profile's public reviews, the widget automatically reflects those removals on the next sync — you never display content BBB has already taken down. Every card keeps the BBB mark and the reviewer's name, and clicking a review links back to your BBB business profile, so attribution stays intact. BlooTrue never fabricates a rating: an empty star-only review (a star rating with no written text) is still shown as a real review, and the header number is always BBB's own customer-review aggregate.

BBB tips for Magento

  • Use a CMS Static Block so the same BBB widget can be placed into multiple layout positions without duplicating code.
  • Remember to flush the Magento cache (System → Cache Management) after saving — the widget will not appear until you do.
  • No marketplace extension or Composer install is needed, so the widget survives Magento / Adobe Commerce version upgrades untouched.

How Do I Install BlooTrue BBB on Magento?

Four steps: create the block, paste the HTML, place it, flush the cache.

1

Open Content → Blocks (or Pages) in the Magento Admin

Log into your Magento / Adobe Commerce admin and open Content → Blocks. Click Add New Block for a reusable block — or open Content → Pages and edit a CMS page if you only need the widget on one page.

Works identically on Magento 2.x Open Source and Adobe Commerce, including Adobe Commerce Cloud.

2

Paste the Embed as Raw HTML

In the content editor, click Show / Hide Editor to switch the WYSIWYG into raw-HTML mode, then paste the BlooTrue BBB embed code.

Using Page Builder? Drag an HTML Code element into your layout, click its Edit (gear) button, and paste the embed there instead.

3

Place the Block via Content → Widgets

For CMS Blocks: open Content → Widgets, click Add Widget, choose type CMS Static Block, pick your theme, and assign the block to a layout position — for example Main Content Bottom on the homepage or a category-page sidebar.

CMS Pages skip this step — they publish directly when you click Save.

4

Flush the Cache (Do Not Skip This)

Open System → Cache Management and flush the invalidated cache types — or run bin/magento cache:flush. Magento's full-page cache keeps serving the pre-widget version of the page until you do. Purge Varnish / Fastly too if they front the store.

One-time step. Reviews auto-sync from BBB every 24 hours afterward — no further flushes needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BBB offer its own embed widget or Magento extension?

No on both counts. BBB doesn't provide an official embed widget for merchants — its Fusion API is gated for partner apps, not merchant self-embeds. And the Magento Marketplace has no meaningful BBB review extension either. BlooTrue fills both gaps with a free HTML embed pasted into a CMS Block or Page Builder element.

Do I need a Magento extension to display BBB reviews?

No. BlooTrue is a pure HTML embed pasted into a CMS Block or CMS Page — no Marketplace extension, no composer require, no setup:upgrade, no deploy. The embed lives in CMS content in your database, so it survives Magento upgrades and Adobe Commerce Cloud deploys untouched.

Do I need a BBB API key or BBB Fusion access?

No. BlooTrue works with any public BBB business profile — no BBB API key, no BBB Fusion application, no business-level claim required.

Does this work on Adobe Commerce and Adobe Commerce Cloud?

Yes. Adobe Commerce shares the same admin — Content → Blocks, Pages, Page Builder, and Widgets all work identically. On Adobe Commerce Cloud there is nothing extra to deploy: the embed is CMS content stored in the database.

I saved the block but the BBB widget isn't showing — why?

Almost always Magento's full-page cache. Open System → Cache Management and flush the invalidated caches (or run bin/magento cache:flush). Purge Varnish / Fastly too if they front the store. One-time step — new reviews sync through the embed script, no further flushes needed.

Where exactly do I paste the embed code in the Magento admin?

Classic WYSIWYG: Content → Blocks (or Pages), click Show / Hide Editor to switch to raw HTML, and paste. Page Builder: drag an HTML Code element into your layout and paste there. For blocks, finish via Content → Widgets → CMS Static Block to assign a layout position.

Will the widget slow down my Magento store?

No. The widget loads asynchronously, the script is under 20KB, reviews are served from a CDN cache, and it adds zero PHP execution to your server — full-page-cached pages stay fully cacheable. Typical LCP impact is under 50ms.
