There aren't many all inclusive resorts in Maine. Quisisana Resort combines spectacular food, high-quality water sport, tennis, and pickleball options, PLUS live nightly entertainment, making it a one-of-a kind experience. The friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic staff who serve your meals and clean your cabins are the same talented performers who sing and dance their hearts out for you in a new show each night. I've seen lot of Dirty Dancing comparisons in other guests' reviews about this iconic Maine resort, and they have a point. The lakefront summer camp vibes are strong and the classic Maine cottages with front porches hit the right nostalgic notes, but the charm is complimented by high-end fixtures, plush bedding and awesome climate control. If you prefer to simply relax in your cabin, on your porch, or in one of the comfortable lounge chairs stationed along Kezar Lake, doing nothing is always an option. Every meal was extraordinary and the servers became like chosen family as we celebrated their nightly performances and got to know their backgrounds and aspirations. It's no wonder Quisisana Resort was named the No. 1 Hotel/Resort in New England in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards. Whether you're seeking a couples' escape where you only have to pack clothes or a family getaway where kids of all ages are never bored, and always safe/supervised, Quisisana Resort isn't just a great vacation destination, it's a daily event you'll always remember.

We had a phenomenal (unplugged) week at Quisisana Resort. From the very start, as first time guests, we felt welcomed by the gracious staff as well as the other guests, many of whom had been visiting Quisisana for decades. The individual cabins were well maintained and cleaned every morning. The lake is beautiful and quiet, with few motorized boats. Perfect for our daily kayaking exploration. The star of the week were the 9 musical performances! The musical talent was exceptional. Classical vocal and instrumental, opera, musical theater, two children's productions which were equally entertaining for the adults. We discovered a gem in the woods of Maine and will surely return next year!

You may have read about the excellent food, service, rooms, waterfront, marine equipment, and shows all of which are true. I'd like to add another dimension: Nicole, is compassionate, caring, sensitive, and emphatic to your needs, the perfect hostess.

THE ENTERTAINMENT IS DIVERSE AND EXCELLENT. AT 11 am children can see musical or plays. Then at 9 pm musical or plays. The waiters are the performers. Great food served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cottages are recently upgraded clean, screened in porch. I enjoyed the lake for swimming and kayaking. WI-FI ONLY available at office and large deck outside. MEANS MORE CONVERSATION, READING AND talking with other guests.

I wish there were more than 5 stars I could assign to this special magical resort. It starts with the location on gorgeous Lake Kezar in Maine - with crystal clear water, the mountains in your view, and the lovely beach to lounge on or launch your choice of water sports from! There is everything you might need right there at the resort - on top of the beach there is a game room, amazing lodge, mini-golf, tennis, shuffleboard, volleyball, a playground etc..... Next, there is the food - this resort is a foodie paradise. With three meals a day included in your booking, all from a top chef and staff, you will be well fed with NYC level meals throughout your stay. The seafood buffet night, the lobster dinner, the lamb, the duck, the steaks, the amazing lunches in the dining room or at the beachside patio, and the full breakfasts including their amazing waffles - are all top notch! The cabins are in lovely locations in the woods or at the lake, well appointed for cabins, with air-conditioning and full bathrooms. (There is no WIFI and TV in cabins which really helps you relax and connect with the experience!) Finally, the shows - oh my goodness the shows! The artists that work at the resort (and they do work - they wait on tables, staff the beach etc) all are top talent who would be at home on a Broadway or MET stage in any production. From the welcome show to the closing night of Arias the performances are just completely over the top! They feature two broadway level plays (one kids during the day and one at night), two full operas (one kids during the day and one at night), a cabaret night, piano night, chamber music night and of course the lovely sounds you catch at times during the day of hugely talented voices practicing! This place is a GEM that you will come to time and time again as you become part of the Quisi family!

Quissisana is a modest musical resort on beautiful Lake Kezar in Lovell, Maine. We've stayed for a week in each of the last three summers. All meals are included. What sets this place apart from most places are the performers. Usually, there are nine performances in one week. Two are at 11 am and are geared toward children. This year they were Honk (a retelling of The Ugly Duckling story)made into a musical) and a very unusual version of The Magic Flute. The nighttime shows start at nine pm.||At night there might be a musical from Broadway, an evening of operatic arias, chamber music, or a whole opera. ||The performing staff go through an audition process and if they accept the invitation, they know that they might be serving meals or cabin housekeeping, water activities, maintenance, and so on. They are unfailingly charming, open, and incredibly talented. Most of the performers are musical theater or opera majors. ||The food is quite good. Start the week with Lobster Risotto, among 2-3 daily options. But they do offer 'always have' alternatives for lunch and dinner. You choose what you like at breakfast for the next two meals.||If someone in your group is stuck on a screen almost all the time, alert them ahead of time that there is no TV, cell service, or internet on the grounds. Ha! If they have to check things, they can go to the main lodge to get a phone signal or internet. If they must. Actual landline phone booths dot the grounds, that are free to us within the US.||The lake is huge and gorgeous. They have 2 beaches--a peppy active one and one quiet one, perfect for reading. Sidenote: despite what you might think about swimming in Maine, the water is not cold. Use the paddleboards, float, canoes, and kayaks found at the active beach. ||It's friendly, quiet, and an all-around unique experience. ||

It is difficult to know what to talk about first — the food (incredible), the lake (breathtaking), the performances (magical), the staff (wonderful) or the vibe (far more a community of newfound friends than a plain ole resort).||The place gets better and better, all while staying the same. ||Guests arrive on a Sat and depart the following Sat. So, you know the people you see will be there all week with you; erstwhile strangers take the time to get to know each other while hanging out in the lake. ||Families young and old get to spend quality time together … and apart… with hiking, sailing, boating, paddle boarding, waterskiing, etc., etc. etc. ||Many of the staff are trained performers — concert level instrumentalists, musical theater actors, opera singers. Each night they perform a show that leaves you cheering. ||Chef Andrew Vogel cooks up daily meal options that are so good, so well presented and so bountiful that you’ll swear to start a diet next month. The meals are what you’d find at the best restaurants anywhere.||The new back deck is incredible - a huge new gathering space that lets guests lounge, drink in hand, while taking in a priceless view. ||Quisi is so good that it makes a cabin-on-a-lake experience anywhere else disappointing!
