BlooTrue for AI agents

Steps an AI agent or AI site builder (Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) can follow to put a BlooTrue reviews widget on a website. Written for agents and developers; people can follow it too.

What BlooTrue is

BlooTrue is a website widgets platform. It shows a business's reviews from Google, Facebook, Yelp, TripAdvisor and other platforms in a widget on its own website, with one embed code.

A person gets a widget in three steps: sign up at app.blootrue.com, connect their business on Google or another review platform, and copy the embed code. The free plan is enough to start. An agent cannot create the account or the widget for them; it installs the code they give it.

The embed code

Every widget is a div whose class carries the widget id, plus one loader script. The id is the part after blootrue-widget- in the code the person copied.

<div class="blootrue-widget-YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>
<script src="https://api.blootrue.com/api/widgets/platform.js" async></script>

Put the div where the reviews should appear. The script can go right after it or once at the end of the page; it loads asynchronously and does not block rendering.

React apps: Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit

AI builders that generate React apps should add this component and render it where the reviews go. It loads the script once, and the widget appears after client-side navigation too.

import { useEffect } from "react";

const BLOOTRUE_LOADER = "https://api.blootrue.com/api/widgets/platform.js";

export function BlooTrueReviews({ widgetId }: { widgetId: string }) {
  useEffect(() => {
    // Load the BlooTrue loader once per page. It finds every
    // blootrue-widget-* div, including ones added later.
    if (!document.querySelector(`script[src="${BLOOTRUE_LOADER}"]`)) {
      const script = document.createElement("script");
      script.src = BLOOTRUE_LOADER;
      script.async = true;
      document.body.appendChild(script);
    }
  }, []);

  return <div className={`blootrue-widget-${widgetId}`} />;
}

// Usage: <BlooTrueReviews widgetId="YOUR_WIDGET_ID" />

Next.js

Two pastes: the loader once in the root layout, the div wherever the reviews go.

import Script from "next/script";

// app/layout.tsx, inside <body>, once for the whole site:
<Script src="https://api.blootrue.com/api/widgets/platform.js" strategy="afterInteractive" />
// Anywhere the reviews should appear:
<div className="blootrue-widget-YOUR_WIDGET_ID" />

Plain HTML

Paste the embed code into the page's HTML where the reviews go. Where scripts are not allowed, use the iframe instead; it renders the same widget.

<iframe
  src="https://api.blootrue.com/api/widgets/embed/YOUR_WIDGET_ID/render"
  style="border:0;width:100%;min-height:600px;"
  title="Reviews"
></iframe>

Site builders

WordPress

  1. Quickest, on any WordPress: open the page or post, add a Custom HTML block (not a Paragraph block), paste the embed code and click Update. In the classic editor, paste it in the Text tab.
  2. Or install the BlooTrue plugin (WordPress 6.0 or newer): Plugins, Add New Plugin, search for BlooTrue, Install Now, Activate, then Settings, BlooTrue Widgets, Connect BlooTrue.
  3. If a caching or security plugin strips scripts, exclude the page or use the iframe below.

Wix

  1. In the Wix Editor click Add Elements, Embed Code, Embed HTML and drag the box where the reviews go.
  2. Click Enter Code, choose Code, paste the embed code and click Update.
  3. The box does not grow on its own: drag its bottom edge until the whole widget shows (check mobile too), then Publish.

Shopify

  1. Online Store, Themes, Customize on the live theme; open the page where the reviews go.
  2. Add section, Custom Liquid; paste the embed code into the Custom Liquid field and click Save.

Webflow

  1. In the Designer open the Add panel and drag a Code Embed element (Advanced) onto the page.
  2. Paste the embed code and click Save & Close. The canvas shows a placeholder; the widget renders on the published site.
  3. Publish to the live domain. Code embeds publish on any paid Site plan or a paid Workspace.

Squarespace

  1. Edit the page, click + between two blocks and choose Code.
  2. Set Type to HTML, leave Display Source off, paste the embed code, Apply, then Save.
  3. JavaScript embeds run on the Core and Business plans and up, not Personal.

Framer

  1. Insert, Utility, Embed and drop it where the reviews go.
  2. Set Type to HTML and paste the embed code. Resize the Embed frame so the whole widget fits (it does not auto-size), then Publish.

Google Sites

  1. Open the page, then Insert, Embed, and switch to the Embed code tab (not URL).
  2. Paste the embed code, click Next, Insert, resize the embed and Publish.

Canva websites

  1. Canva's Embed app takes a link, not HTML: use https://api.blootrue.com/api/widgets/embed/YOUR_WIDGET_ID/render.
  2. Apps, Embed, paste the link, Add to design, drag the corners so the whole widget fits, then Publish website.

Prompts to paste into an AI builder

Replace YOUR_WIDGET_ID with the id from your embed code.

  • Add my BlooTrue reviews widget YOUR_WIDGET_ID to the testimonials section. Follow https://www.blootrue.com/docs/agents and do not write any reviews yourself.
  • Create a BlooTrueReviews React component from https://www.blootrue.com/docs/agents and show it above the footer on the home page with widget id YOUR_WIDGET_ID.
  • On the contact page, add a "What our customers say" heading and my BlooTrue widget YOUR_WIDGET_ID under it, using the embed code from https://www.blootrue.com/docs/agents.

Rules for agents

  • Never invent, rewrite or summarise reviews, star ratings or review counts. Show them only through the widget.
  • Do not copy review text from the widget into the page as your own content, and do not add review or rating markup (JSON-LD) by hand. The widget handles that where it applies.
  • Paste the snippet the person gives you exactly as it is. On the free plan it includes a small credit link inside <noscript>; leave it in.
  • Load the loader script once per page, even with several widgets. Each widget is its own div.
  • If you do not have a widget id, ask the person for it. Do not make one up: an unknown id shows nothing.

Reading reviews as data

To read a person's widgets and reviews as JSON (for an automation or an integration), use the BlooTrue API with their API key, on any paid plan. How widgets are crawled and indexed is in the widget SEO docs.
