How to Add Reviews to Hostinger: Which Product Are You On?

Hostinger is a host first. The website builder is one product it sells alongside shared hosting, managed WordPress and everything else, which means two people asking how to add a review widget to their Hostinger site can need two completely different answers. Establishing which product you are on takes half a minute in the control panel and is the difference between following the right instructions and wondering why the element you are looking for does not exist.

Three Products, Three Answers

Hostinger customers land on this question from three different places. Some are using the Hostinger Website Builder, a drag-and-drop editor. Some have WordPress installed on Hostinger hosting. Some have a hand-built site sitting on plain shared hosting.

The control panel tells you which. If you open a visual editor with a sections-and-elements panel, it is the Website Builder. If you open a WordPress dashboard, it is WordPress. If you are looking at a file manager, it is plain hosting.

Instructions for one do not translate to the others, and most of the confusion around Hostinger embeds is somebody following builder instructions on a WordPress site or the reverse.

On the Website Builder

Drag an Embed code element into the section where the reviews should appear and paste the widget embed into it. Publish the site. There is no mode to switch into and nothing to escape.

The builder preview may collapse the element until the site is published, so the height you see in the editor is not necessarily the height on the live page. Publish and check before arranging anything around it.

Give the element its own row rather than squeezing it beside other content. It makes the section easier to move later and easier to make behave on a narrow screen.

On WordPress at Hostinger

This is the ordinary WordPress answer: add a Custom HTML block where the reviews belong, paste the embed and update the page. Nothing about Hostinger changes that.

What Hostinger does add is caching. Managed WordPress hosting caches aggressively, so clear the cache from the Hostinger panel and reload before deciding a correct embed is broken.

If the plan includes an optimisation feature that defers or combines scripts, that is the second thing to check. Turning it off briefly identifies it quickly.

On Plain Hosting

If the site is hand-built HTML on shared hosting, paste the embed into the markup where the reviews should render and upload the file. There is no builder involved and no plugin.

Keep a copy of the file before editing. File manager edits are live and there is no draft, which is the same discipline any direct-to-server edit deserves.

If the site uses a template or include for the footer or header, decide deliberately whether the widget belongs there for every page or in one page only.
