How it installs on OpenCart

  1. 1

In the OpenCart admin, open Design → Layouts and pick the target layout.

  2. 2

Add an HTML Content module (Extensions → Modules → HTML Content) with the BlooTrue embed code pasted in.

  3. 3

Assign the module to the layout position.

  4. 4

Save and refresh the storefront — the widget renders in that position.

Where the code goes on OpenCart

In OpenCart the embed code goes into an HTML Content module, created under Extensions, Modules, HTML Content, and then assigned to a position in a layout under Design, Layouts. The module editor is a WYSIWYG field whose visual mode can escape script tags, so switch to the source view before pasting. There is no canvas preview in the admin; you see the reviews only on the storefront after saving. The module takes the width of its assigned position, and assigning it to the home layout's content-bottom position shows it on the homepage only, while a category layout covers category pages.

Where reviews earn their place on a OpenCart site

The home layout's content-bottom position and category pages above the footer.

If the widget does not show on OpenCart

  • If the storefront shows the code as text, you pasted in visual mode; open the module's source view and paste the code there.
  • If the module is saved but not visible, open Design, Layouts and confirm the module is assigned to a position in that layout.
  • If the change is not showing, clear the OpenCart cache from the dashboard; the theme caches rendered output.

OpenCart Review Widgets — FAQ

Is there a free review widget for OpenCart?
Yes — BlooTrue embeds Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, G2, Capterra, Airbnb, Booking.com or any of 21 review platforms on OpenCart for free. Information page Source view, or HTML Content module via Layouts. No plugin, no view caps.
Which review platforms can I show on OpenCart?
21 platforms: Google, Trustpilot, Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Angi, Glassdoor, Agoda, BBB, OpenTable, RateMDs, Capterra, G2, Indeed, TrustRadius, Clutch, Expedia, Booking.com, Etsy, Google Play — each with its own OpenCart install guide. Starter ($9/month) blends its 3 connected platforms into one all-in-one widget, and Pro ($29/month) and higher blend every platform you connect.
Do I need a OpenCart plugin or app?
No. BlooTrue is a pure HTML embed — one line of code pasted into the OpenCart editor. Information page Source view, or HTML Content module via Layouts.
How do I add a review widget to OpenCart without installing an extension?
Use the built-in HTML Content module. Go to Extensions, Modules, HTML Content, create a module, and paste the BlooTrue code in the editor's source view. Then open Design, Layouts, pick the layout and assign the module to a position. No third-party OpenCart extension is required.
Why does OpenCart display the embed code as plain text on my store?
The HTML Content module uses a WYSIWYG editor that escapes script tags when you paste in the visual mode. Open the module, switch the editor to its source or code view, paste the snippet there and save. The storefront then runs the script instead of printing it.
Can I show reviews on OpenCart category pages as well as the homepage?
Yes. The layout decides where the module shows. Assign the HTML Content module to the Home layout for the homepage and to the Category layout for category pages, each in a position such as content-bottom. One module can be assigned to several layouts.
