Canva Yelp Review Widget — Free Embed for Canva Sites, Fills Yelp's Embed Gap
BlooTrue's Yelp Review Widget for Canva is a free embed for Canva Sites — drops into any Canva design via the built-in Embed app. Yelp doesn't ship an official embed widget at all; its Fusion API is gated for partner apps, not merchant self-embeds. The Canva Embed app + BlooTrue is the only path to live Yelp reviews on a Canva-published site. Canva Sites is the publishing feature Canva launched in 2023 and expanded in 2024 that lets you turn any Canva design into a one-page or multi-page published website with a free *.my.canva.site subdomain (custom domains on Canva Pro / Teams). The Embed app ships built into every Canva account — no marketplace install, no Canva Pro requirement to use either the Embed app or Canva Sites publishing. Works with any public Yelp business profile — no Yelp API key, no Yelp Fusion application, no business-level claim required. Note: not every Canva template starts as a Sites design — use Convert to Website on any existing design to make it publishable.
How to embed Yelp reviews on Canva Sites in 60 seconds
- Open your Canva Sites design (or use Convert to Website on any existing design).
- Click Apps in the left sidebar, search "Embed", select the built-in Embed app.
- Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the Embed code field (not the URL field) and click Add to design.
- Position and resize the embed on the canvas, then click Publish website.
Important: Canva Sites is design-first, not responsive-first
The Canva canvas is a fixed-size design surface, so the BlooTrue embed renders at whatever pixel dimensions you set in the editor — it does not auto-fluidly resize. Canva does support mobile-specific layouts: switch to the mobile view in the editor and resize the embed independently for that breakpoint. Pick a single-column widget style (List, Compact Badge, Slider) for the mobile canvas.
JSON-LD honesty on Canva Sites
Canva Sites does not currently let you control the parent-page schema or inject custom JSON-LD into the document head. The BlooTrue embed iframe still emits its own Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD inside its document, which is indexable, but parent-document schema generally carries more rich-snippet weight in Google.
