Is there a free review widget for Big Cartel?

Yes — BlooTrue embeds Google, Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, G2, Capterra, Airbnb, Booking.com or any of 21 review platforms on Big Cartel for free. Custom Page HTML view, or theme code injection on Diamond plan. No plugin, no view caps.

Which review platforms can I show on Big Cartel?

21 platforms: Google, Trustpilot, Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, Angi, Glassdoor, Agoda, BBB, OpenTable, RateMDs, Capterra, G2, Indeed, TrustRadius, Clutch, Expedia, Booking.com, Etsy, Google Play — each with its own Big Cartel install guide. Starter ($9/month) blends its 3 connected platforms into one all-in-one widget, and Pro ($29/month) and higher blend every platform you connect.

Do I need a Big Cartel plugin or app?

No. BlooTrue is a pure HTML embed — one line of code pasted into the Big Cartel editor. Custom Page HTML view, or theme code injection on Diamond plan.

Is there a way to add a reviews widget to a Big Cartel shop?

Yes, through the theme code. Open Design in the Big Cartel admin, click the Edit code (Advanced) view, open the template where reviews should appear, paste the BlooTrue embed code into the markup, and save. Theme code editing requires a paid Big Cartel plan, so check yours first.

Which Big Cartel template should hold the widget?

For shop-wide placement use the layout template, since it wraps every page. For the storefront only, use the home template and paste under the featured products loop, so reviews sit right after the products. A page template suits a dedicated reviews page. Save and reload the live shop.

Is editing Big Cartel theme code risky?

It can be, because the Edit code (Advanced) view changes the live theme the moment you save. Copy the whole template into a text file before you paste the BlooTrue snippet. If the shop looks wrong afterwards, paste the original back and try again with the snippet on its own line.

How it installs on Big Cartel

1
In Big Cartel admin, open Design and click the Edit code (Advanced) view.
2
Open the layout or page template where the reviews should appear.
3
Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the template markup.
4
Save — the widget renders on the live shop.

Where the code goes on Big Cartel

Big Cartel keeps the embed code inside the theme itself. In the admin, open Design, switch to the Edit code (Advanced) view, and open the layout or page template where you want reviews, such as the home template below the featured products loop. Paste the code straight into the template markup. There is no visual preview of the pasted snippet; you save and load the live shop. Width and height come from the surrounding theme markup and the widget. Because the editor changes the live theme, copy the template's contents somewhere safe before pasting.

Big Cartel plan note: Editing theme code requires a paid Big Cartel plan.

Where reviews earn their place on a Big Cartel site

The home template under the featured products loop.

If the widget does not show on Big Cartel

Cannot open the Edit code (Advanced) view? Theme code editing is a paid Big Cartel feature, so check your plan before looking elsewhere for the option.
If the shop breaks after saving, paste back the template copy you saved earlier, then re-insert the BlooTrue code on its own line.
Reviews missing on the storefront? Make sure the code is in the home template below the featured products loop, not only in a page template.
