Where the Code Goes on Big Cartel

Big Cartel keeps the embed code inside the theme itself. In the admin, open Design, switch to the Edit code (Advanced) view, and open the layout or page template where you want reviews, such as the home template below the featured products loop.

Paste the code straight into the template markup. There is no visual preview of the pasted snippet; you save and load the live shop. Width and height come from the surrounding theme markup and the widget. Because the editor changes the live theme, copy the template's contents somewhere safe before pasting.

If the widget does not show on Big Cartel

  • Cannot open the Edit code (Advanced) view? Theme code editing is a paid Big Cartel feature, so check your plan before looking elsewhere for the option.
  • If the shop breaks after saving, paste back the template copy you saved earlier, then re-insert the BlooTrue code on its own line.
  • Reviews missing on the storefront? Make sure the code is in the home template below the featured products loop, not only in a page template.
