Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your TrustRadius reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

How to Add TrustRadius Reviews to Big Cartel

Connect your TrustRadius profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the theme code editor on Big Cartel and publish. Theme code editing requires a paid Big Cartel plan.

  1. 1

In Big Cartel admin, open Design and click the Edit code (Advanced) view.

  2. 2

Open the layout or page template where the reviews should appear.

  3. 3

Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the template markup.

  4. 4

Save — the widget renders on the live shop.

The code editor edits the live theme — copy the template's contents somewhere safe before pasting so you can revert.

Where the Code Goes on Big Cartel

Big Cartel keeps the embed code inside the theme itself. In the admin, open Design, switch to the Edit code (Advanced) view, and open the layout or page template where you want reviews, such as the home template below the featured products loop.

Paste the code straight into the template markup. There is no visual preview of the pasted snippet; you save and load the live shop. Width and height come from the surrounding theme markup and the widget. Because the editor changes the live theme, copy the template's contents somewhere safe before pasting.

If the widget does not show on Big Cartel

  • Cannot open the Edit code (Advanced) view? Theme code editing is a paid Big Cartel feature, so check your plan before looking elsewhere for the option.
  • If the shop breaks after saving, paste back the template copy you saved earlier, then re-insert the BlooTrue code on its own line.
  • Reviews missing on the storefront? Make sure the code is in the home template below the featured products loop, not only in a page template.

Still blank? Our help article Widget not showing covers the checks that apply on every site.

Where TrustRadius reviews help most on Big Cartel

Software companies rarely run on Big Cartel, but some do, to sell licences, templates, plugins, hardware that ships with software, or add-ons.

The buyer is then a business, and TrustRadius reviews from users of your product are the proof that buyer recognises. Put the widget on the product page for the licence or plan, under the description and above the price options. A compact badge on the home page covers the rest. Leave it off physical merchandise: TrustRadius reviews describe the software, and beside a T-shirt or a mug they read as unrelated, which undercuts the reviews rather than the mug.

About TrustRadius reviews in this widget

A TrustRadius widget carries the long reviews users write on TrustRadius to your site, with the score and review count TrustRadius publishes for your product in the header. TrustRadius scores products out of 10, not out of 5, so the header is not a star average; BlooTrue prints the figure as TrustRadius reports it. TrustRadius verifies reviewers before their write-ups go live, and those write-ups run through pros, cons and how the product is used, over many paragraphs. What site owners get wrong is expecting pull quotes. Choose a layout with room to read.

TrustRadius Widget on Big Cartel — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue TrustRadius review widget free for Big Cartel?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed TrustRadius reviews on Big Cartel. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on Big Cartel?
In Big Cartel admin, open Design and click the Edit code (Advanced) view. Open the layout or page template where the reviews should appear. Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the template markup. Save — the widget renders on the live shop. Theme code editing requires a paid Big Cartel plan.
Anything specific to Big Cartel worth knowing before I embed?
The code editor edits the live theme — copy the template's contents somewhere safe before pasting so you can revert.
Where should I place TrustRadius reviews on Big Cartel for the biggest lift?
The home template under the featured products loop.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your TrustRadius reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching Big Cartel again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
Why does my TrustRadius widget show a score like 8.7 instead of stars?
Because TrustRadius rates products on a 10-point scale. Reviewers give a score from 1 to 10 and TrustRadius publishes the product's score on its page. The widget header repeats that number and the review count as they appear on TrustRadius, so an 8.7 there is an 8.7 on your site.
What TrustRadius address does the builder need?
Your product's reviews page on TrustRadius, which follows the pattern trustradius.com/products/your-product/reviews. That page holds the score out of 10, the review count and the reviews themselves, and it is the only thing you paste. Pick a layout with generous text space, since TrustRadius reviews run long, then copy the embed.
A verified user posted a long TrustRadius review last week, will it appear?
Only if you are on a paid plan, which re-reads your TrustRadius product page each day and adds reviews TrustRadius has published since the last pass. A free widget is fixed to the reviews present when you created it, so a write-up published after that stays on TrustRadius only.
