How to Add Google Play Reviews to IONOS

Connect your Google Play profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the HTML Module element on IONOS and publish. The HTML Module is not available in all IONOS MyWebsite Now plans.

    Open your site in the IONOS MyWebsite Now editor.

    Go to Content → Elements, click the plus sign, and choose the HTML Module.

    Click the Code option and paste the BlooTrue embed code, then confirm the privacy settings.

    Click Done and publish — the widget renders on the live page.

The HTML Module is not included in every MyWebsite Now plan — if you don't see it, your IONOS package may need an upgrade.

Where the Code Goes on IONOS

The IONOS MyWebsite Now editor accepts the embed code through an HTML Module, which you add from Content → Elements with the plus sign.

The module has a Code option for the pasted script and asks you to confirm privacy settings before the script is allowed to run. Inside the editor the module may appear as a placeholder box; the reviews are guaranteed only on the published page. The module takes the width of the content area you drop it in, and the HTML Module is not offered in every MyWebsite Now plan.

If the widget does not show on IONOS

  • No HTML Module under Content → Elements? It is missing from some MyWebsite Now plans, so check your IONOS package before trying another element.
  • If the reviews never load, reopen the HTML Module and confirm the privacy settings prompt; an unconfirmed script is not run on the published page.
  • A blank module inside the IONOS editor is expected. Publish and load the live page to see the stars badge or review slider.

Where Google Play reviews help most on IONOS

An app's landing site on IONOS usually has a hero with phone screenshots, a feature list and store buttons.

Place the Google Play widget after the features and before the final download section, so visitors reach the store buttons having read what users say. A compact badge beside the Google Play button in the hero works as well. On a support or FAQ page, reviews add little, since the reader already has the app. If you publish release notes on the site, keep them apart from the widget; reviews and changelogs answer different questions for different people.

The Google Play widget puts your app's Play Store rating out of 5, its review count and the user reviews from its store listing on your site, all read from Google Play. Reviews on Google Play come from Google accounts that installed the app, and the header figure is Google's, not one the widget works out. Site owners' usual mistake is picking the Google source instead of Google Play. Google reviews belong to a Business Profile, the map listing for a shop or office, and are unrelated to your app. Choose Google Play and paste the store listing URL.

Our last update brought a wave of one-star Play reviews, will they show on my site?
Not on the free plan, which lists only Google Play reviews rated four stars and above. The store rating in the header is a separate matter: it is the figure from your listing, so if that rating fell after the release, the header shows the lower number the next time the widget refreshes, and free widgets never refresh.
