Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your Expedia reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

The same widget, built from whichever platform your reviews live on. Free plan on every one.

How to Add Expedia Reviews to IONOS

Connect your Expedia profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the HTML Module element on IONOS and publish. The HTML Module is not available in all IONOS MyWebsite Now plans.

  1. 1

Open your site in the IONOS MyWebsite Now editor.

  2. 2

Go to Content → Elements, click the plus sign, and choose the HTML Module.

  3. 3

Click the Code option and paste the BlooTrue embed code, then confirm the privacy settings.

  4. 4

Click Done and publish — the widget renders on the live page.

The HTML Module is not included in every MyWebsite Now plan — if you don't see it, your IONOS package may need an upgrade.

Where the Code Goes on IONOS

The IONOS MyWebsite Now editor accepts the embed code through an HTML Module, which you add from Content → Elements with the plus sign.

The module has a Code option for the pasted script and asks you to confirm privacy settings before the script is allowed to run. Inside the editor the module may appear as a placeholder box; the reviews are guaranteed only on the published page. The module takes the width of the content area you drop it in, and the HTML Module is not offered in every MyWebsite Now plan.

If the widget does not show on IONOS

  • No HTML Module under Content → Elements? It is missing from some MyWebsite Now plans, so check your IONOS package before trying another element.
  • If the reviews never load, reopen the HTML Module and confirm the privacy settings prompt; an unconfirmed script is not run on the published page.
  • A blank module inside the IONOS editor is expected. Publish and load the live page to see the stars badge or review slider.

Still blank? Our help article Widget not showing covers the checks that apply on every site.

Where Expedia reviews help most on IONOS

For a small hotel, B&B or holiday rental, the IONOS site is the brochure, and the booking engine is either built in or linked from it.

Two places count. The home page, just under the hero photo, is where a visitor who found you on Expedia checks that you are the same place with the same score. The rooms or property page, right above the Book now button, is where they decide. If the site has a page per room or per unit, the widget can repeat on each. Skip the contact and directions pages: a guest looking up your address has usually booked already, and the reviews there only push the map down.

About Expedia reviews in this widget

The Expedia widget shows the guest reviews from your property's Expedia page, with the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes in the header. Expedia lets only travelers who booked through Expedia and completed the stay leave a review, so every review in the widget comes from an actual stay. The mistake hoteliers make is expecting feedback from guests who booked direct to turn up here. It cannot; a review that was never posted on Expedia is not in the widget. The header is Expedia's own figure, not an average of the reviews shown.

Expedia Widget on IONOS — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue Expedia review widget free for IONOS?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed Expedia reviews on IONOS. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on IONOS?
Open your site in the IONOS MyWebsite Now editor. Go to Content → Elements, click the plus sign, and choose the HTML Module. Click the Code option and paste the BlooTrue embed code, then confirm the privacy settings. Click Done and publish — the widget renders on the live page. The HTML Module is not available in all IONOS MyWebsite Now plans.
Anything specific to IONOS worth knowing before I embed?
The HTML Module is not included in every MyWebsite Now plan — if you don't see it, your IONOS package may need an upgrade.
Where should I place Expedia reviews on IONOS for the biggest lift?
IONOS sites are typically local businesses — a Google-stars badge next to the phone number and a review slider above the contact form do the heavy lifting.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your Expedia reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching IONOS again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
Which Expedia page do I paste to pull my property's reviews?
Your property's own page on Expedia. Its address ends with a number after .h and the words Hotel-Information, for example expedia.com/City-Hotels-Your-Property.h123456.Hotel-Information. That page holds the guest rating and the traveler reviews the widget reads. Paste it, choose a layout and copy the embed onto your booking page.
Does the number at the top of the Expedia widget match my Expedia page?
It is the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes for your property, copied rather than recalculated, so it matches the page as of the widget's last read. On the free plan that read happened when you created the widget; paid plans read the page daily, so the header follows your Expedia rating as new stays are reviewed.
Can the Expedia widget give my hotel page star rich snippets in Google?
No. Google's review-snippet rules exclude reviews a business shows about itself through an embedded widget. Paid plans still add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD with your Expedia guest rating and review count to the page, which search engines and AI assistants can read if the embed is rendered inline; inside a sandboxed iframe it is invisible to them. The free plan adds no markup.
