Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your Expedia reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

The same widget, built from whichever platform your reviews live on. Free plan on every one.

How to Add Expedia Reviews to WordPress

Connect your Expedia profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the Custom HTML block on WordPress and publish. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.

  1. 1

Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor.

  2. 2

Add a Custom HTML block where the reviews should appear (Classic editor: use the Text tab).

  3. 3

Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the block.

  4. 4

Update/Publish the page — the widget renders on the live site.

In the Classic editor paste into the Text tab, not Visual — the visual editor rewrites script tags. The block editor previews the widget correctly.

Where the Code Goes on WordPress

In the WordPress block editor the embed sits in a Custom HTML block, which you can drop anywhere in a post, page, or block-based template.

The block has a Preview tab that renders the widget inside the editor, and it takes the width of its container and grows to fit the reviews. In the Classic editor you must paste on the Text tab, because the Visual tab rewrites script tags. Caching and security plugins are the WordPress-specific catch: a page cache can hold the old HTML until purged, and script-minifying optimizers can break the snippet.

If the widget does not show on WordPress

  • Widget missing on the live site but visible in the editor usually means a caching plugin. Purge the page cache and reload the page.
  • If the script tag vanished after saving in the Classic editor, you pasted on the Visual tab. Switch to Text and paste again.
  • A blank block on WordPress.com below the Business plan is the plan limit on custom embed code, not a widget problem.

Still blank? Our help article Widget not showing covers the checks that apply on every site.

Expedia Review Widget for WordPress — Free, No Plugin

Embed Expedia reviews on any WordPress page with a single copy-paste embed code. Verified-traveler Expedia reviews, where guests decide to book. Installs via the Custom HTML block. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.

Where Expedia reviews help most on WordPress

A hotel or rental running on WordPress usually has more than a handful of pages: rooms, local guides, a blog about the area.

Guide and blog pages pull in travellers who have not picked a place yet, which makes them a good home for a compact Expedia widget at the end of the post, beside a link to the rooms. On the rooms page itself, place the full widget above the booking form or booking plugin, as its own block rather than inside the plugin's settings. Keep one widget per page. A theme that also adds its own testimonial block gives two sets of praise saying the same thing, so pick one.

About Expedia reviews in this widget

The Expedia widget shows the guest reviews from your property's Expedia page, with the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes in the header. Expedia lets only travelers who booked through Expedia and completed the stay leave a review, so every review in the widget comes from an actual stay. The mistake hoteliers make is expecting feedback from guests who booked direct to turn up here. It cannot; a review that was never posted on Expedia is not in the widget. The header is Expedia's own figure, not an average of the reviews shown.

Expedia Widget on WordPress — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue Expedia review widget free for WordPress?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed Expedia reviews on WordPress. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on WordPress?
Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor. Add a Custom HTML block where the reviews should appear (Classic editor: use the Text tab). Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the block. Update/Publish the page — the widget renders on the live site. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.
Anything specific to WordPress worth knowing before I embed?
In the Classic editor paste into the Text tab, not Visual — the visual editor rewrites script tags. The block editor previews the widget correctly.
Where should I place Expedia reviews on WordPress for the biggest lift?
Homepage below the hero and on a dedicated testimonials page — WordPress themes almost always have a widget-ready section for both.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your Expedia reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching WordPress again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
Which Expedia page do I paste to pull my property's reviews?
Your property's own page on Expedia. Its address ends with a number after .h and the words Hotel-Information, for example expedia.com/City-Hotels-Your-Property.h123456.Hotel-Information. That page holds the guest rating and the traveler reviews the widget reads. Paste it, choose a layout and copy the embed onto your booking page.
Does the number at the top of the Expedia widget match my Expedia page?
It is the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes for your property, copied rather than recalculated, so it matches the page as of the widget's last read. On the free plan that read happened when you created the widget; paid plans read the page daily, so the header follows your Expedia rating as new stays are reviewed.
Can the Expedia widget give my hotel page star rich snippets in Google?
No. Google's review-snippet rules exclude reviews a business shows about itself through an embedded widget. Paid plans still add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD with your Expedia guest rating and review count to the page, which search engines and AI assistants can read if the embed is rendered inline; inside a sandboxed iframe it is invisible to them. The free plan adds no markup.
