Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your Expedia reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

The same widget, built from whichever platform your reviews live on. Free plan on every one.

How to Add Expedia Reviews to BigCommerce

Connect your Expedia profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the HTML widget on BigCommerce and publish.

  1. 1

Open the page in BigCommerce Page Builder.

  2. 2

Drag the HTML widget from the widget panel into the target region.

  3. 3

Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the widget's code editor.

  4. 4

    Click Save/Publish — the widget renders storefront-side.

Page Builder shows a placeholder frame for HTML widgets on the canvas — check the published page for the rendered reviews.

Where the Code Goes on BigCommerce

In BigCommerce the embed code goes into the HTML widget in Page Builder, dragged from the widget panel into a region of the page or storefront layout.

On the Page Builder canvas the HTML widget appears as a placeholder frame, so check the rendered reviews on the published storefront. The widget fills the width of its region and grows with the reviews. Regions are defined by your Stencil theme, so which regions accept an HTML widget depends on the theme, and a widget dropped into a global region such as the header or footer shows on every storefront page.

If the widget does not show on BigCommerce

  • If Page Builder shows only a frame, that is normal for HTML widgets; open the storefront to see the rendered reviews.
  • If the region you want is not offered, your Stencil theme defines the available regions; try another region or a Web Page's HTML view.
  • If the storefront still shows the old page, click Publish in Page Builder; saving alone leaves the change unpublished.

Expedia Review Widget for BigCommerce — Free, No Plugin

Embed Expedia reviews on any BigCommerce page with a single copy-paste embed code. Verified-traveler Expedia reviews, where guests decide to book. Installs via the HTML widget.

Where Expedia reviews help most on BigCommerce

A property that sells through BigCommerce is usually selling something beside the stay: gift vouchers, packages, bookable extras, merchandise from the guesthouse.

Guests who already stayed know you, so Expedia reviews do their real work where a stranger decides, such as a voucher bought as a present for someone who has never seen the place. Put the widget under the description of gift cards and packages. Keep it off the cart and checkout, where it only adds scroll. If the same store also takes room bookings through an app, that booking page is the stronger spot, because it is where a first-time guest weighs your score against the same room listed on Expedia.

About Expedia reviews in this widget

The Expedia widget shows the guest reviews from your property's Expedia page, with the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes in the header. Expedia lets only travelers who booked through Expedia and completed the stay leave a review, so every review in the widget comes from an actual stay. The mistake hoteliers make is expecting feedback from guests who booked direct to turn up here. It cannot; a review that was never posted on Expedia is not in the widget. The header is Expedia's own figure, not an average of the reviews shown.

Expedia Widget on BigCommerce — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue Expedia review widget free for BigCommerce?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed Expedia reviews on BigCommerce. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on BigCommerce?
Open the page in BigCommerce Page Builder. Drag the HTML widget from the widget panel into the target region. Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the widget's code editor. Click Save/Publish — the widget renders storefront-side.
Anything specific to BigCommerce worth knowing before I embed?
Page Builder shows a placeholder frame for HTML widgets on the canvas — check the published page for the rendered reviews.
Where should I place Expedia reviews on BigCommerce for the biggest lift?
Category pages above the product grid and the homepage trust band.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your Expedia reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching BigCommerce again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
Which Expedia page do I paste to pull my property's reviews?
Your property's own page on Expedia. Its address ends with a number after .h and the words Hotel-Information, for example expedia.com/City-Hotels-Your-Property.h123456.Hotel-Information. That page holds the guest rating and the traveler reviews the widget reads. Paste it, choose a layout and copy the embed onto your booking page.
Does the number at the top of the Expedia widget match my Expedia page?
It is the guest rating and review count Expedia publishes for your property, copied rather than recalculated, so it matches the page as of the widget's last read. On the free plan that read happened when you created the widget; paid plans read the page daily, so the header follows your Expedia rating as new stays are reviewed.
Can the Expedia widget give my hotel page star rich snippets in Google?
No. Google's review-snippet rules exclude reviews a business shows about itself through an embedded widget. Paid plans still add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD with your Expedia guest rating and review count to the page, which search engines and AI assistants can read if the embed is rendered inline; inside a sandboxed iframe it is invisible to them. The free plan adds no markup.
