Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your Capterra reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

The same widget, built from whichever platform your reviews live on. Free plan on every one.

How to Add Capterra Reviews to WordPress

Connect your Capterra profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the Custom HTML block on WordPress and publish. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.

  1. 1

Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor.

  2. 2

Add a Custom HTML block where the reviews should appear (Classic editor: use the Text tab).

  3. 3

Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the block.

  4. 4

Update/Publish the page — the widget renders on the live site.

In the Classic editor paste into the Text tab, not Visual — the visual editor rewrites script tags. The block editor previews the widget correctly.

Where the Code Goes on WordPress

In the WordPress block editor the embed sits in a Custom HTML block, which you can drop anywhere in a post, page, or block-based template.

The block has a Preview tab that renders the widget inside the editor, and it takes the width of its container and grows to fit the reviews. In the Classic editor you must paste on the Text tab, because the Visual tab rewrites script tags. Caching and security plugins are the WordPress-specific catch: a page cache can hold the old HTML until purged, and script-minifying optimizers can break the snippet.

If the widget does not show on WordPress

  • Widget missing on the live site but visible in the editor usually means a caching plugin. Purge the page cache and reload the page.
  • If the script tag vanished after saving in the Classic editor, you pasted on the Visual tab. Switch to Text and paste again.
  • A blank block on WordPress.com below the Business plan is the plan limit on custom embed code, not a widget problem.

Still blank? Our help article Widget not showing covers the checks that apply on every site.

Capterra Review Widget for WordPress — Free, No Plugin

Embed Capterra reviews on any WordPress page with a single copy-paste embed code. Capterra software reviews, embedded where buyers compare and decide. Installs via the Custom HTML block. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.

Where Capterra reviews help most on WordPress

Software companies on WordPress often have big content sites: docs, a blog, landing pages built by the marketing team.

Put the Capterra widget on the home page, the pricing page and every comparison or alternatives page, where buyers do the most checking. Posts that rank for problems your product solves can end with a compact widget beside a trial link. Documentation rarely needs it, because readers there are already users. If the pricing page is assembled from page-builder blocks, give the widget its own block rather than squeezing it into a pricing table cell, where it would be cut to the width of one plan.

About Capterra reviews in this widget

The Capterra widget brings the reviews from your Capterra product listing to your pages, with the rating out of 5 and review count Capterra publishes in the header. Software buyers use Capterra, a Gartner company, to build shortlists, so put the widget on the pages where they compare you. Capterra checks each review before publishing it. What site owners get wrong is reading the header as an average of the reviews on the page. It is Capterra's own figure and counts every review, including lower-rated ones a free widget leaves out.

Capterra Widget on WordPress — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue Capterra review widget free for WordPress?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed Capterra reviews on WordPress. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on WordPress?
Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor. Add a Custom HTML block where the reviews should appear (Classic editor: use the Text tab). Paste the BlooTrue embed code into the block. Update/Publish the page — the widget renders on the live site. Self-hosted WordPress: every plan. WordPress.com: custom embed code requires the Business plan or higher.
Anything specific to WordPress worth knowing before I embed?
In the Classic editor paste into the Text tab, not Visual — the visual editor rewrites script tags. The block editor previews the widget correctly.
Where should I place Capterra reviews on WordPress for the biggest lift?
Homepage below the hero and on a dedicated testimonials page — WordPress themes almost always have a widget-ready section for both.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your Capterra reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching WordPress again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
What do I paste into the builder to pull my Capterra reviews?
The address of your product listing on Capterra, which takes the form capterra.com/p/ followed by a number and your product name. The builder reads the rating, review count and reviews from that listing. Pick a layout, copy the one-line embed and paste it into your comparison page; the whole thing takes about a minute.
I already display a Capterra badge, why would I add a widget?
Because the badge is an image. It shows no review content, none of the words reviewers wrote about your software, and no count of how many wrote them. The widget lists the reviews from your Capterra listing, so a buyer on your comparison page reads what other buyers said without leaving for Capterra.
Will my Capterra rating appear as stars under my page in Google search results?
No. Google's review-snippet rules exclude reviews a business shows about itself through an embedded widget. Paid plans still add schema.org Review and AggregateRating markup as JSON-LD carrying your Capterra rating and review count, which search engines and AI assistants can read when the embed renders inline on your page; if the embed sits in a sandboxed iframe, they never see it.
