Google Review Widget for Ecwid (by Lightspeed) — Free, Dual-Mode Install
BlooTrue's Google Review Widget for Ecwid is a free, app-free embed that displays your 5-star Google reviews on any Ecwid (Ecwid by Lightspeed) store. Ecwid is unusual compared to BigCommerce or Shopify — it's primarily designed to be embedded inside other websites (Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Weebly, plain HTML) rather than be a standalone store. Many merchants use Ecwid as the shopping cart inside a non-e-commerce host site. So the install path branches: for a standalone Ecwid Instant Site (Ecwid-hosted storefront with its own URL), paste the BlooTrue embed via the storefront editor's Code element. For embedded-Ecwid setups (the more common path), paste the embed on the host page's HTML widget instead — outside the Ecwid iframe — because the iframe is sandboxed and the reviews look better surrounding the Ecwid store on the host page. Ecwid was acquired by Lightspeed in 2021; the product is now Ecwid by Lightspeed but the dashboard still says Ecwid in most places. Six widget styles with light and dark themes plus a custom color picker. SEO rich snippets are auto-injected.

Standalone vs embedded Ecwid — which mode am I on?
If your store URL is on an Ecwid-hosted domain (mystore.company.site) or a custom domain pointed at the Ecwid Instant Site, you're on standalone mode — use the Code element. If your store URL is your own domain (a Wix site, WordPress site, Squarespace site, plain HTML site) with the Ecwid storefront embedded as a component on a page, you're on embedded mode — paste on the host page instead. Both modes are fully supported.
BlooTrue vs Ecwid's built-in Reviews app
Ecwid has a built-in Reviews app for product-level reviews (customers rate individual products), but no Google Business reviews integration. BlooTrue fills that gap — pulls storefront-wide Google reviews and pastes them into the Code element or the host page. The two solutions complement each other: Ecwid's product reviews live on product pages, BlooTrue's Google reviews live on the storefront home / about / reviews page.
