Wix Studio is Wix's platform for agencies and freelance designers, so whoever adds a Google widget is often building for a client. Two things are worth settling before the design has a reviews band: whether the client can have Google reviews at all, and what the widget can and cannot do for search on Wix Studio.

Should an agency add Google reviews to every Wix Studio client site?

Only for clients Google will list: businesses that serve customers face to face, at their own premises or at the customer's door. Purely online businesses cannot get a Business Profile, so their sites need another review source.

Ask at the brief stage, before you design the section. A clinic, a salon or a plumber fits the Google widget, while a web shop or a remote consultancy can show reviews from Trustpilot or a marketplace in the same Embed HTML element, sized per breakpoint in the same way.

Will Google reviews on Wix Studio bring stars to search results?

No. Google does not show stars for a business's own reviews displayed on its own site, and on Wix Studio the widget's content sits in an isolated iframe anyway.

That isolation means the review schema a paid plan adds stays inside the frame rather than in the host page's DOM. Set the client's expectations: the widget is there to persuade people already on the page, while Google shows stars on the client's Business Profile in Search and Maps.

How to Add Google Reviews to Wix Studio

Where the Code Goes on Wix Studio

In Wix Studio the embed code goes into an Embed HTML element, reached through Add elements, then Embed, then Embed HTML, where you paste the code and apply it.

Wix Studio uses the same sandbox as classic Wix: the element is a fixed-size iframe, so it does not grow with the reviews. You size the frame for each breakpoint, desktop, tablet and mobile, or the widget scrolls inside its box. The editor shows a live preview inside the frame. Because the widget is isolated in that iframe, anything it adds, including structured data, is not in the host page's DOM.

If the widget does not show on Wix Studio

  • If the reviews scroll inside a box, the embed frame is too short; resize it on that breakpoint to the widget's full height.
  • If the desktop version looks right but mobile is clipped, switch to the mobile breakpoint and resize the Embed HTML element there.
  • If the live site shows the old layout, click Publish; Wix Studio does not push editor changes automatically.
