Google reviews on a Magento store with premises

Many Magento stores sell only online, and those cannot show Google reviews at all. A store with a showroom or a collection counter can, and Magento's CMS blocks and cache decide where those reviews appear and when.

Can a Magento store without a shop front show Google reviews?

No. A Google Business Profile requires in-person contact with customers, either at your own premises or where you serve them, so a store that only ships orders has no Google reviews to display.

If customers can visit a showroom or collect orders from a counter, that location qualifies, and its reviews describe the people who came in. Say so beside the widget, so shoppers know the reviews are about your premises, not about delivery.

Should the Google widget sit in a Magento CMS block or a page?

In a CMS block when more than one page needs it. Build the block once with an HTML Code element and assign it to the category pages where it belongs.

After saving, flush Magento's cache in Cache Management, or visitors keep getting the markup from before your edit. You only flush for changes to the block itself; the reviews load from BlooTrue as the page runs.

Where the Code Goes on Magento

Magento (Adobe Commerce) expects the embed code in a Page Builder HTML Code element, dragged into a row of a CMS page or CMS block.

The Page Builder stage may show the code or a placeholder rather than the running widget; the storefront is where the reviews render. The element fills the width of its row, and the widget sets the height. Magento serves cached page markup, so after saving you must flush the cache from Cache Management in the admin, or the storefront keeps showing the page without the widget.

If the widget does not show on Magento

  • Saved but no widget on the storefront? Flush the Magento cache. Until you do, visitors get the cached markup from before your edit.
  • Widget on the CMS page but not on category pages? Put the HTML Code element in a CMS block and assign that block to those categories.
  • If Page Builder shows the code as text in the stage, that is normal for scripts; check the storefront after saving and flushing.

Where Google reviews help most on Magento

Local businesses that sell through Magento are usually a shop with a counter as well as a website: a bakery, a bike shop, a florist.

Customers who reviewed you on Google mostly reviewed the visit, the service and the staff, not a single product, so the widget belongs on store-wide pages rather than product pages: the home page under the banner, the About page, and the page that explains delivery or local pickup. That last one matters most, because it is where a nearby buyer decides whether to trust you with an order. If a product review app already shows per-item stars, keep Google reviews off those pages so the two never get mixed up.

Your Google widget shows the reviews on your Google Business Profile, and the number above the cards is the Google rating and review count as Google reports them, not an average of the cards. Anyone with a Google account can rate you from Maps or Search, no purchase needed. Google offers no review embed and the Business Profile has no widget, so pasting a Maps embed gives owners a map, not reviews. The free plan keeps the 4-star-and-up Google reviews imported at creation; a review left on Maps next week needs a paid plan's daily refresh.
