Facebook Review Widget for Showit — Free, the Only Free Path

BlooTrue's Facebook Review Widget for Showit is a free, no-code embed that displays your Facebook reviews anywhere on a Showit canvas. There's a double gap to bridge: Facebook does not publish an official embed widget for merchants (its Fusion API is gated for partner apps like Apple Maps and Trivago), and Showit has no plugin marketplace at all — so there's no app route either. BlooTrue fills both gaps through Showit's built-in Embed Code widget: drag it onto the desktop canvas, paste the snippet into the widget settings, place it again on the separate mobile canvas, and Publish. Note the Showit quirk: the in-app preview does not run third-party scripts, so the widget renders on the live published site only. Showit's user base — photographers, salons, studios, wedding planners — is exactly the local-service crowd where Facebook reviews carry the most weight in North America. 100+ widget styles, light and dark themes, free custom color picker. SEO rich snippets — schema.org Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD — injected automatically.

How to embed Facebook reviews on Showit in 60 seconds

  1. Paste your Facebook Page URL (facebook.com/yourpage-slug) into the configurator above.
  2. Pick a widget style and customize colors, theme, and layout.
  3. Click Copy Code to get the one-line HTML embed.
  4. In the Showit design app: add an Embed Code widget and drag it anywhere on the desktop canvas.
  5. Paste the embed into the widget's settings panel.
  6. Switch to the mobile canvas and position the widget there too.
  7. Click Publish — reviews render on the live site, not in Showit's preview.

Why doesn't Facebook have an official embed?

Facebook's Fusion API is positioned as a partner-channel product (used by sites like Apple Maps and Trivago) rather than a merchant self-service product. Facebook does not publish a paste-ready embed widget the way Google publishes Place Cards. For Showit sites the gap is even wider — Showit has no plugin marketplace, so there is no app to install in the first place. Third-party widgets like BlooTrue are the canonical way to surface Facebook reviews on a Showit site.

Get golden stars in Google search results

On paid plans, every BlooTrue widget injects schema.org Review + AggregateRating JSON-LD straight into your page — so Google and AI answer engines can read your ratings and reviews as structured data, and your pages become eligible for star-rating rich snippets. (Google treats a business's own reviews on its own site as "self-serving" and doesn't guarantee stars for them — product/service reviews are the most reliably eligible; either way your reviews become machine-readable for search and AI.)

Your Business — Trusted by 500+ Happy Customers

4.9
(127)
This is what your customers see when they Google you — powered by BlooTrue's JSON-LD.
  • Zero config — it just works

    The moment you embed a BlooTrue widget, JSON-LD markup is injected automatically. No extra tags, no developer time.

  • Google Rich Results valid

    Every field follows Google's current structured-data guidelines — LocalBusiness, AggregateRating, and Review — so it passes the Rich Results Test out of the box.

  • Standalone schema endpoint Paid plans

    For star ratings to appear under your parent page's blue link in Google, search engines need the schema on the parent page itself — iframe-embedded schema is not propagated to the host page. Paid plans expose a JSON-LD endpoint per widget that you drop into your<head>for SERP rich snippets on product, landing, or legacy pages. Schema markup is a paid feature: free-plan widgets display your reviews but don't emit JSON-LD, so free pages aren't eligible for rich snippets.

  "name": "Your Business",
  "aggregateRating": {

  }
}
</script>

Star-snippet visibility is ultimately decided by Google — valid schema is a prerequisite, not a guarantee. BlooTrue ships the markup; Google decides which queries get stars. For SERP rich snippets to appear under your parent page's link, the schema must be served on the parent page itself — that's what the standalone JSON-LD endpoint (paid plans) is for. Schema markup is a paid feature, so free-plan widgets display your reviews but don't emit JSON-LD. Independent studies find pages with valid review schema see materially higher click-through rates than plain listings.

Why Use BlooTrue for Facebook on Showit?

The only free way to put Facebook reviews on a Showit design — Facebook has no embed, and Showit has no plugin store.

Fills Facebook's Missing Embed

Facebook doesn't publish an official embed widget for merchants. BlooTrue is the free, paste-and-go alternative — it pulls reviews from your public Facebook page automatically.

Made for Local Service Brands

Photographers, salons, studios, and planners — the Showit crowd — are exactly the categories where Facebook reviews carry the most weight with North American customers.

Drag-Anywhere Placement

Showit's Embed Code widget goes wherever your design needs it, on both the desktop and mobile canvases. Pixel-level control, no layout grid fighting you.

No Facebook API Key Required

Works with any public Facebook Page. No Facebook Fusion application, no API quotas, no business-level claim required.

What makes a Facebook widget different from a Google review widget?

Facebook's recommendation system works differently from star-based platforms like Google. Knowing how recommendations become stars, and how Page moderation works, avoids surprises after you embed.

How BlooTrue turns Facebook recommendations into star ratings

Facebook retired numeric star ratings in 2018. Instead, visitors tap Recommends or Doesn't recommend and write a short comment, and the Page shows a percentage of people who recommend it. BlooTrue normalizes that into the star format your other widgets use: each “Recommends” renders as a 5-star review, each “Doesn't recommend” as 1 star, and the Page's overall recommendation percentage becomes a clean 0–5 star header rating. The result is a Facebook widget that looks and reads exactly like your Google or Yelp widget — no confusing percentages on your site. The header rating always comes from Facebook's own published aggregate, never from averaging the individual cards.

Where the recommendations come from and how often they refresh

BlooTrue fetches the publicly-visible recommendations from your Facebook Page on a server-side schedule — roughly once every 24 hours on paid plans — and caches the result. Your site never calls Facebook directly, so visitor traffic to your page doesn't depend on Facebook being reachable, and the widget loads instantly from cache. Only recommendations that are public on your Page are included; anything set to private or hidden by the Page owner is never pulled. Each recommendation keeps its reviewer name, photo, and comment, and links back to your Facebook Page.

Turning on recommendations and what shows up in the widget

Recommendations only appear if your Page has the Reviews / Recommendations section enabled and public. If your Page is brand new or has recommendations switched off, there's nothing for the widget to import yet — turn the section on in your Page settings and the widget will populate as soon as your first public recommendation lands. Once enabled, the widget shows whatever your Page shows publicly: no more, no less. If a recommendation disappears from your widget after a sync, it almost always means the reviewer deleted it or Facebook removed it — the widget simply follows your Page's public state.

Moderation, Community Standards, and attribution

Facebook moderates recommendations under its Community Standards and removes spam, hate speech, and content that violates its policies. Because BlooTrue reads only your Page's public recommendations, the widget automatically reflects those removals on the next sync — you never display content Facebook has already taken down. Every card keeps the Facebook mark and the reviewer's name, and clicking a review links back to your Facebook Page, so attribution stays intact. BlooTrue never fabricates a rating: an empty “Recommends” with no comment is still shown as a real recommendation, and the header number is always Facebook's own aggregate.

Facebook tips for Showit

  • Showit's in-app preview does not run third-party scripts — publish the site to see the Facebook widget render.
  • Showit canvases are designed per device: place the Embed Code widget on both the desktop AND mobile canvas views.
  • Photographers: a Facebook widget near your booking inquiry form shows real client proof exactly where couples decide to reach out.

How Do I Install BlooTrue Facebook on Showit?

Takes less than a minute. One Embed Code widget, placed on both canvases, then Publish.

1

Add an Embed Code Widget to the Canvas

Open your page in the Showit design app and add an Embed Code widget. Drag it anywhere on the desktop canvas — beside your inquiry form, under the hero, on the services page.

The Embed Code widget is built into every Showit plan.

2

Paste the Facebook Embed Code into the Widget Settings

With the Embed Code widget selected, open its settings panel and paste the BlooTrue Facebook embed code you copied above. The widget shows as a placeholder box in the design app — that's expected (see step 4).

3

Place It on the Mobile Canvas Too

Showit designs desktop and mobile canvases separately. Switch to the mobile view and position the Embed Code widget there as well so phone visitors see your Facebook reviews.

Same embed code on both — the widget adapts to each canvas width.

4

Publish — and Check the Live Site, Not the Preview

Click Publish. Showit's in-app preview does not run third-party scripts, so the widget will not render there. Open the live published URL — your Facebook reviews appear on it.

Reviews auto-sync from Facebook every 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the BlooTrue Facebook widget free for Showit?

Yes. BlooTrue is completely free for Showit. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views, works on every Showit plan. The free plan shows your Facebook reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer.

Does Facebook offer its own embed widget for Showit?

No. Facebook does not provide an official embed widget for businesses to display their reviews on a website — Facebook's Fusion API is gated for partner apps, not merchant self-embeds. Showit also has no plugin marketplace, so there's no app route either. BlooTrue fills the gap with a free embed pasted into Showit's built-in Embed Code widget.

Do I need a Facebook API key or Facebook Fusion access?

No. BlooTrue works with any public Facebook Page — no Facebook API key, no Facebook Fusion application, no business-level claim required. Just paste your facebook.com/yourpage-slug URL into the configurator.

Why don't my Facebook reviews show in the Showit preview?

Showit's in-app preview doesn't execute third-party scripts — by design. The Embed Code widget shows as a placeholder box inside the design app and preview. Publish your site and open the live URL: the Facebook reviews render there. This applies to every script-based embed on Showit, not just BlooTrue.

Do I place the Facebook widget twice for desktop and mobile?

Yes. Showit designs the desktop and mobile canvases independently. Add the Embed Code widget on the desktop canvas, then switch to the mobile view and position it there too. Same embed code in both — the widget sizes itself to each canvas automatically.

Which Showit businesses benefit most from a Facebook widget?

Local service businesses — exactly the crowd that runs on Showit: photographers, salons, beauty studios, wedding planners, and boutique fitness. Facebook carries serious weight for these categories in North America, and surfacing your real Facebook reviews next to your inquiry form keeps prospects from leaving your site to check you on Facebook.

Will the widget slow down my Showit site?

No. The widget loads asynchronously after your page content. The script is under 20KB and reviews are served from a CDN cache. Typical impact on Largest Contentful Paint is under 50ms — well within Core Web Vitals thresholds, even on image-heavy portfolio pages.
