G2 reviews in an iframe on partner and reseller portals

The iframe version of the widget is for pages that will not run scripts. For a software company those pages tend to sit outside the marketing site: a reseller portal, a partner enablement hub on an older CMS, or a sales team's page on the intranet.

Why would a reseller portal show G2 reviews?

Because resellers face the same buyers you do, and a current G2 rating they can point to helps them answer doubts on a call. An iframe on the portal's resources page keeps those reviews in front of partners without asking whoever runs the portal to allow scripts.

Set the height with G2's review length in mind. The frame will not grow, and a written G2 review takes more room than a bare star rating, so test the page at phone width before you deploy it.

Does review schema work inside the G2 iframe?

It stays inside the frame. Review schema is a paid-plan feature, but in the iframe variant it belongs to the page loaded from BlooTrue's domain, not to yours, and Google does not show stars for a business's own reviews on its own site anyway.

For a portal behind a login that hardly matters. If you want search engines to read the markup on a public page, use the script embed there, on a builder that renders it inline, and keep the iframe for the places that cannot run scripts.

Review schema markup, on paid plans

Paid widgets add schema.org Review and AggregateRating JSON-LD to the page they sit on, so search engines and AI answer engines can read your G2 reviews as structured data. Google does not show review stars for reviews a business shows about itself, so the gain is readability, not stars. The free plan shows the reviews without the schema. See how the schema works

The same widget, built from whichever platform your reviews live on. Free plan on every one.

How to Add G2 Reviews to iFrame

Connect your G2 profile in BlooTrue, pick a style, then paste one embed code into the plain iframe snippet on iFrame and publish.

  1. 1

Copy the iframe variant of your embed code from the BlooTrue embed panel.

  2. 2

Open the HTML of the target page in your editor of choice.

  3. 3

Paste the iframe where the reviews should appear.

  4. 4

Save/deploy the page — the widget renders inside the iframe.

The iframe variant needs no script permissions at all — it works even on platforms that strip script tags.

Where the Code Goes on iFrame

The iframe variant is for any page where you control the raw HTML but cannot run scripts: a legacy CMS that strips script tags, an intranet page, a portal behind a login.

Copy the iframe snippet from the BlooTrue embed panel, open the page source and paste it where the reviews belong. The frame loads the widget from BlooTrue's domain, so the host page needs no script permission, though a strict Content Security Policy must allow that origin in frame-src. An iframe does not size to its content; set width and height yourself, or the reviews get an inner scrollbar.

If the widget does not show on iFrame

  • Blank frame on a site with a strict Content Security Policy: add the BlooTrue origin to frame-src or the browser blocks the iframe.
  • If only part of the reviews shows with an inner scrollbar, the iframe height is fixed too low. Raise the height attribute.
  • When your CMS turns the iframe into an escaped string, paste it in a raw HTML or source view rather than the WYSIWYG editor.

Still blank? Our help article Widget not showing covers the checks that apply on every site.

Where G2 reviews help most on iFrame

Software companies with a custom-built marketing site tend to put the G2 widget in three places: the home page below the hero, the pricing page above the plans, and the sign-up page beside the form.

The sign-up page is the one teams forget, and it is where a visitor about to create an account has one last doubt. Keep the widget out of the product itself; logged-in users do not need to be sold to again. Give it a container with a sensible maximum width so it does not stretch across a wide pricing layout, and match its theme to the site's light or dark mode.

About G2 reviews in this widget

Your G2 widget lists the reviews from your G2 product profile and puts the star rating and review count G2 reports for that profile in the header. Both figures are read from G2, not averaged from the reviews on the page. G2 verifies the people who leave those ratings, which is why software buyers check them before booking a demo. The mistake to avoid is treating a G2 badge as an embed. G2 badges are image files with no review text behind them, so a visitor learns nothing beyond the logo. The widget shows the reviews themselves.

G2 Widget on iFrame — FAQ

Is the BlooTrue G2 review widget free for iFrame?
Yes. BlooTrue is completely free to embed G2 reviews on iFrame. No plugin, no recurring fee, unlimited views. The free plan shows your reviews with BlooTrue branding in the footer; paid plans remove the branding.
How do I install the widget on iFrame?
Copy the iframe variant of your embed code from the BlooTrue embed panel. Open the HTML of the target page in your editor of choice. Paste the iframe where the reviews should appear. Save/deploy the page — the widget renders inside the iframe.
Anything specific to iFrame worth knowing before I embed?
The iframe variant needs no script permissions at all — it works even on platforms that strip script tags.
Where should I place G2 reviews on iFrame for the biggest lift?
Anywhere raw HTML works — email-gated portals, legacy CMSes, intranet pages.
Do the reviews stay up to date automatically?
Paid plans auto-sync your G2 reviews daily, so the widget always shows your latest 5-star reviews without touching iFrame again. The free plan shows the reviews imported at setup.
We have two products listed on G2, can each one get its own widget?
Each widget reads one G2 product profile, the page at g2.com/products/your-product/reviews, so two products means two widgets with two URLs. The free plan includes a single widget, so start with the product your site promotes most; the header will carry that product's own G2 rating and review count.
Which number sits at the top of the G2 widget?
The star rating and review count from your G2 product profile, as G2 publishes them. BlooTrue does not build a new average from the G2 reviews it displays. Since the free plan lists only your G2 reviews of four stars and up, the header can read lower than the reviews under it, because G2 counts the lower ratings too.
What do I give up by using the free plan for G2 reviews?
Two things. A small BlooTrue badge appears on the widget, and the widget keeps the G2 reviews present when you created it rather than fetching new ones. There is no card to enter and no view limit. Paid plans remove the badge and check your G2 profile every day for reviews added since.
